The imaginative, contemplative, and intuitive aspects of mosaic-making attracted me to this ancient art form. The poetry of rhythm, material tactility, and visual language of each piece all contribute to the vision of the maker. In addition, appreciating time- honored mosaic techniques, but innovating with today’s materials to create contemporary compositions is a fascinating process. I approach mosaics with the mindset of a child, the curiosity of a researcher, and the heart of a maker. I love making mosaics that speak in abstract terms while independently studying the space between the ancient and modern styles.
I have also previously developed color, surface and materials into projects by using techniques in color technologies, principles of design and elements of art.
